This crib was made in 1955, in Canada, and has been in Kathryn's family since her birth. Kathryn, her brother, her sister and Kathryn's daughter were all raised in this crib.
The crib came with water decals which eventually crumbled and fell off, so, in 1982 when her daughter was born, Kathryn painted original oil painted designs on the crib.
The mattress frame is adjustable to two locations and does need one new bracket from the hardware store.
The side rail on one side drops all the way down to the floor.
The boxed drawer unit that fits under the mattress is a fabulous storage area for blankets and diapers etc.
The top veneer needs to be glued down and one end (shown) needs to be sanded and varnished. There was a moving truck accident coming to Tennessee and a liquid took off the varnish.
The mattress was new in 1982 and has been stored indoors ever since. You may have the mattress if you wish.
NOTE: For many years Kathryn used this crib as store display to hold dolls, toys, linens and other retail goods. It drew many a comment.

This vintage playpen also was purchased in Canada in the 1950's.
Unlike the square units, this playpen is 3'x4' folds to fit nicely into a large trunk, van or Toyota (which is what Kathryn owned).
|
This playpen is far better for encouraging standing and walking than those wiggly, flimsy, netted units.

This extra long twin mahogany spindle bed was purchased in 1982 from a sweet 93 year old gentleman who told me his parents bought him this bed USED when he was 7 years old. According to that data, it would date the bed to somewhere in the 1890's.

This stove was sold in Canada by McClary-The Wilcolator Co.

The item was purchased new, in Canada, by my next door neighbors who used it right up until the 1970's when they had electricity installed in their home. They took the stove and all it's parts, pipes and pieces and put it in their garage where it sat until I purchased it in 1993 and have used it for store display ever since.

You are looking at an antique/vintage iron accessory (shown in top photo).
This item clamps onto your ironing board and plugs into an electrical outlet.
You then plug your iron into the plug in the unit, run the iron's cord through the twist in the end of the spring loaded upright of the stand and your iron cord is now suspended in the air. Never again will your cord yank and pull as you iron or get in the way to be burned.
GREAT FOR QUILTERS or CRAFTERS!!
